bp-COR Stopping Bath
This water-based product is used to stop the oxidation process that has been brought about by our act-COR oxide activator. It is called “stop bath” because originally, when pieces of corten steel had been oxidized, in order to stop or halt the oxidation process, they were submerged in a bucket “giving them a bath” and were then taken out to dry.
These days, the product is not used for “bathing”, but is applied with different application techniques such as rollers, compressor spray guns and turbine spray guns.
This product gives the surfaces of the steel and corten steel protection from the very first moment it is applied, although many factors need to be taken into account.
This emulsion, when it is applied, has a milky appearance, leaving a whitish film that disappears as the minutes pass. After 45 minutes, the surface will be dry to the touch, although several days will be required for it to dry completely and in turn, provide total protection.
This product is strongly recommended for protecting large surfaces, for its ease of application and for the considerable savings that can be achieved, especially in large installations.
